Prince William and Kate gather Bollywood superstars to fight for the children

These days India is celebrating the visit of the most loved royal couple around. Finally, Prince William and Kate Join 2016 Bollywood for a gala fundraiser in Mumbai. This event took place last Sunday as a wrapping event for the first day of the royal tour in India. Before playing cricket, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge paid their respects to the victims of the terrible Mumbai terrorist attack in 2008, and later that evening attended a studded dinner with all the famous actors from Bollywood.

Shortly after arriving, Prince William and Kate, were caught bowing their heads and paying an homage in the memory of the 31 people who were brutally killed in the horrific attack on Mumbai eight years ago, as they laid a wreath in respect of those tragically killed. The message imprinted on the wreath which was addressed to those killed in the atrocities that took place at the Taj Mahal in 2008 was sincere and heartwarming.

The Prince William and Kate Join 2016 Bollywood event stars ambassadors and some of India’s elite at a charity gala held at the Taj Palace hotel. Duchess Kate stole the attention of every guest as she looked amazing in deep blue, hand-beaded Jenny Packham gown matched with a pair of stunning earrings designed by Indian jeweler Amrapali. Prince William also looked sharp in that classic black tuxedo and white dress shirt which he elegantly and effortlessly wore.  A particularly nice moment of the evening was when the guests raised when Prince William and Kate held the opening speech. The Duke of Cambridge declared that he and his wife had been wanting to visit India for a very long time. Five years ago, when they got married, Catherine told him how much she would love for India to be the first country they visit after the ceremony. It took half a decade and two children before they finally made this wish become reality. We have to say that it seems they love every second spent here so far. This is the first time Prince William and Kate Join 2016 Bollywood, marking this as the first event of this caliber after the beloved Princess Diana visited India in 1992 along with Prince Charles.

The prince also said that it was a lovely first day of the tour as he and his wife met the world famous cricket player Sachin Tendulkar and had the chance to spend some time with young boys and girls and acknowledged first-hand the challenges most children in India must overcome. The speech also mentioned how important it is for the large sum of money raised on the occasion to be used by three of the most important organizations that fight for the children. Childline India, Magic Bus and Doorstep will make sure that all children from India stand a chance to overcome severe problems and fulfill their full potential.

Further on their Indian tour, the Duke and Duchess intend to reach Kaziranga National Park, where they will admire the elephants and will also pay their respects to Mahatma Gandhi in the city of New Delhi before finally going after the footsteps of William’s late mother,  Princess Diana, by touring the famed Taj Mahal. Be sure to keep track of the events and steps of the beloved royal couple all throughout their tour through India as it is guaranteed to offer many more fabulous moments. Meanwhile, we leave you with some astounding photos which capture the glamour of the first day when Prince William and Kate Join 2016 Bollywood.
