Chanel’s Spring 2016 Haute Couture Show
Chanel’s Spring 2016 Haute Couture Show – famous Karl Lagerfeld designed amazing scenography gloryfing nature and using natural motives. As we are now in the era of eco-friendly products and overall concern about nature, Karl used this concept as the first point in the Couture show.
Nevertheless, the whole concept itself is not the best example of not wasting natural resources (building this structure for just one show), but the overall idea of putting nature in focus really worked. Karl designed beautiful scenery and put the whole show into the accent of natural.
Chanel’s Spring 2016 Haute Couture Show – homage to beauty and nature
This year Chanel’s Spring 2016 Haute Couture Show took place in the wooden structure on two stores, placed in the green zen garden. For this purpose, the real grass was used in order to give a true feeling of nature. This wooden creation irresistibly resembles the doll house, as Cara Delevingne wrote on her Instagram profile.
The famous fashion guru made an impression of live dolls walking the runway. He created almost a fairytale illusion of time and space. All the clothes followed the main concept of celebrating the nature. Wood shavings were embroidered with the fabrics and the patterns of flowers, bees and birds were used to depict the connection with nature. Even the shoes for this occasion were with cork platform and the main color was beige. Above all, he proved again that he can make absolutely astonishing outfits with anything that he uses!
Of course, there was a question that wasn’t posed: how is it prudent to make a sustainability theme and at the same time not acting on a sustainability manner?
For Karl Lagerfeld, it’s nothing new. He had another sustainability theme in Chanel in 2013 when he used the wind turbines and solar panels for the set. However, Chanel gave a statement that all wood would be recycled after the show and they were planning to keep the house.
Diane Kruger, Gwyneth Paltrow, Monica Bellucci, Cara Delevingne were some of the famous faces there. Cara even brought a dog and of course, the little fellow had his 5 minutes of glory! Cute photos on Instagram became viral. Take a look of this magnificent Chanel’s Spring 2016 Haute Couture Show scenography and enjoy the sweet fashion moments.
