Brunettes Rainbow Hair
With a technique called the “oil slick.”
In case you’re a brunette, you’ve most likely been feeling a little left on the rainbow hair pattern because turning your dark strands an opalescent shading is way more a procedure (literally) than it is for your blonde companions. In any case, now there’s a shading strategy for darker strands that makes your hair look radiant. It’s called an “oil slick” because it looks like the hues in an oil spill.
In an interview with Pop Sugar, hair colorist Aura Friedman said, “I’ve been attempting to re-create gasoline or oil when it’s on the ground and it rains. I find that when you take a dark purple and a dark green and layer them one on top of the other, you wind up with this iridescent feeling.”
“It will also be incredible for individuals who normally have dark hair and would prefer not to experience a noteworthy dying procedure,” Friedman proceeded. “You don’t need to lighten it such a great amount to get it there, so your hair will be in better condition.” Turns out it’s really valuable to begin with dark hair when going rainbow. Who knew?
