“When Morgan and I  met, it was love at first sight. Sorry, but it’s true! Meeting Morgan was the best blind date I’ve ever been on…she said, ‘I’m going to launch a sustainable empire.’ And I said, ‘Please let me help.'” Nikki Reed and Morgan Bogle are launching their first collaboration:  six vegan handbags, all  made from recycled plastic and debuting this month at Bloomingdale’s and on  Handbag.com, with earnings helping the  Ian Somerhalder Foundation  for environmental protection.  “Nikki’s more bohemian,” Bogle says, “And I’m more minimalist. But when we worked together, the results ended up being quite chic. € €œPlus, nobody can tell they’re ‘vegan’ bags,” Reed adds. “This is good, because the one thing we can’t stand is when people get self righteous about their fashion choices.  You’re not going to be forced into buying a bag because it’s sustainable and it’s good for the environment. You’re going to buy it and wear it because it’s the coolest bag you’ve seen. You’re going to wear it because it looks great, it goes with everything, and  people will come up to you all day long and say, ‘Where did you get that bag?’ Which happens to me,” Reed says,  “at least twice a day.” Among the offerings: a  bucket bag, a circle clutch, and “a belt bag,” Reed laughs, “which is really a fanny pack. €‹  But people are afraid of that word, even though  I wear them all the time…When you have multiple animals; you have to have your hands free sometimes. Or even if you’ve got like, coffee in one hand, phone in the other €¦sometimes a fanny pack is  the  way to go.” And apparently, Reed isn’t the only one who thinks so. “That bag,” she says, gesturing to the so-called “belt” bag,  “is like classic rock.  It really transcends generations. My mother-in-law and my best friend both begged me for it. I had to call Morgan and say, ‘My mother-in-law just stole our bag sample. Is that okay?'” It was okay €• €‹though if Reed   €‹really   €‹needed it back, she might have to unleash her   €‹Twilight   €‹alter-ego and battle  for it. “Our vampires would never fight,” Somerhalder chimed in, referring to Rosalie Hale (that would be Nikki) and Damon Salvatore (his character on   €‹Vampire Diaries €‹). “If they ever met, they’d figure out a way to get along…they’d probably just see each other and start making out.”
